The issuing entity, the UIDAI, has launched a beta version to create a virtual ID. From 1 June 2018, any kind of service providers will accept this VID instead of aadhaar number.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs's Guidelines, there will be no address details on the last page of the passport booklet from June 1. There will be a barcode in place of this, which can be scanned by the officials to gather information. In such a situation, it will no longer be used as proof of address.
UIDAI has extended the deadline for accepting the virtual system for banking and telecom companies and accepting it instead of one month to July 1.
